So many gyms these days claim to offer "functional fitness". Very few of them actually understand what functional fitness is. As the name would suggest, it needs to have a function. What is your function? What do you need the fitness for? For example: If you want to train powerlifting because you want to be a power lifter, then you're on the right track. That's functional fitness for you. If you just want a better level of overall strength so you can shift some furniture every now and again without getting hurt, is powerlifting really functional.
Functional Fitness needs a function otherwise it isn't functional. Every exercise we ask people to do, we can explain why they should do it, how it benefits them personally, where and how it translates into their life outside of the gym. We don't do anything here at Stage 6 just for the heck of it. everything has a purpose. The purpose of functional fitness should be to get you better at the things you do outside of the gym, not to make you better at going to the gym.

We teach you how to understand your body, how to honour its design and how to move it the way it was meant to move.
Why? Because true health and fitness is about more than what you see in the mirror; it's about how you feel, how you move. We're not into screaming at people or burning them out one 8 week challenge at a time. We're playin' the long-game here folks. Quick results ain't real and real results ain't quick.
You can't trade your body in for a new one, science still hasn't figured out how to do that yet (thanks Obama). We only get one and, believe it or not, we can't brutalize it into health. Surprisingly it doesn't work like that. We show you how to work with your body, not against it.

Bush Preparation Course
Starting 10th Feb 2020
Minimum three (3) Stage 6 sessions per week for 8 weeks starting the 10th Feb. At Stage 6, we like to train a lot of practically applicable skills. We’ll spend 8 weeks developing the skills and conditioning to ensure everyone is feeling physically and mentally confident and competent. We then put those practical skills to the test with a guided bush skills camping retreat on the weekend of the 3-6 April.
